Comments:
This bald eagle was sitting on a stump on the bank of the Skagit River in Western Washington. We came upon him while on an eagle
watching trip with a group from the college where I work. Weather conditions were perfect - a slight mist turned the trees into ghostly
images behind the bird. I was very lucky to get this photograph of him. I find eagles to be such
majestic and beautiful birds. Also I like to think of the best this country can be, as exemplified by our national bird.
