Equipment used: Canon 10D with 300mm lens

Comments: I was out taking landscape photographs of the fall foliage when I noticed this fox hunting along the edge of an aspen grove. I gauge his speed and direction and hiked ahead of him to set up my camera and tripod. He walked within feet of my position before noticing me. He ran a few yards away, but stopped to look back in curiosity. I was lucky to press the shutter release at the right moment.
