Title: Twilight Ice

Location: Vatnajokull Glacier Lagoon, eastern Iceland

Date taken: October, 2004

Equipment used: Olympus C-740 Ultra-Zoom digital camera, low-light setting

Comments: A beautifully clear ice-flow captured the last rays of sunlight as if trying to hold onto the day as it slips away into night. The picture was taken at the end of a long vacation day. We drove over 800km round-trip and got to the lagoon just after sunset in time to capture this unique moment. It was our first vacation overseas and very inspiring. The only editing done to the photo is de-skewing (I set the camera on a rock, so it was not perfectly level).
